Jared Owen Bryan TX – Cath Lab RN from White Oak, Texas Has Passed Away; Community Launches GoFundMe Support

The communities of Bryan, White Oak, and the broader East Texas medical network are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jared Owen, a devoted Cath Lab RN (Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse) and a beloved husband, father, friend, and colleague. His passing has created a profound sense of grief among hospital teams, classmates, friends, and the many families whose lives were touched by his compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to patient care.

Jared lived in White Oak, Texas, where he was known as a grounded presence whose kindness shaped every environment he entered. He graduated from White Oak High School, studied Nursing at Kilgore College, and eventually built a respected career with Medical Solutions, serving patients in high-pressure clinical settings that required precision, empathy, and emotional strength. Colleagues across departments recall how he supported newer nurses, advocated for patients during critical procedures, and approached every shift with calm leadership and a genuine commitment to service.

He is survived by his wife, Ashlynn Owen, and their two young children, who were the foundation of his life. Friends describe Jared as a devoted father whose joy showed in the way he celebrated milestones, encouraged curiosity, and ensured each child felt deeply loved. His loss has left a painful void in a family that cherished his presence, his guidance, and the stability he brought into their daily lives.

In the wake of his passing, coworkers, friends, and community members have mobilized to support the Owen family. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to assist with immediate needs and long-term stability as the family navigates a future forever changed. Donations of any amount are appreciated, and the fundraiser has become a rallying point for those who want to honor Jared’s life through tangible help.

A meal train has also been organized to provide comfort and relief during the weeks ahead, offering warm meals and practical support for Ashlynn and the children. Additional dates will continue to be added based on the family’s evolving needs. Community members are encouraged to participate as they feel led.

Support efforts for Jared’s children have grown as well, with donations of toys and comfort items requested to bring emotional relief during an unimaginably difficult time.
Requested items include:

For Cooper (age 9): Pokémon, Fortnite, Minecraft, Nintendo Switch accessories, soccer and baseball items.
For Denver (age 2): Moana toys, princess items, baby dolls, and toddler-safe comfort gifts.

Books on grief, blankets, sensory items, stuffed animals, and other soothing materials are also encouraged. A drop-off contact has been established for those wishing to contribute directly, and community members are welcome to offer cards or participate in a brief prayer during delivery.

Jared’s impact extended far beyond his medical career. Friends describe him as the “brother they never had,” someone who lived with authenticity, humor, faith, and an eagerness to uplift others. Stories of shared adventures—football, mentoring young men, spontaneous outings, moments of truth, and lifelong celebrations—paint a portrait of a man who embraced joy and lived intentionally. According to loved ones, his influence brought many closer to faith, and his example continues to guide the people he left behind.

His memory now lives in the countless lives he strengthened, the patients he protected, the colleagues he supported, and the family he adored. Memorial service information will be shared as soon as arrangements are finalized, and the community is asked to keep the Owen family in their thoughts as they navigate immeasurable grief with the support of the many people Jared inspired.

Jared Owen will be remembered as a man of faith, service, integrity, and enduring love—qualities that will continue to shine through the people he touched and the legacy he leaves behind.
